I had the amazing opportunity to meet two of my best friends in Honolulu, Hawaii this past month. We have been friends for over 15 years, and have kept in touch ever since. It was a true blessing to come together for a week of fun, food and hilarious memories. We met as wee little 7th graders in Poway, CA, and now 15 years later, living across America and Canada. One of us in Vancouver, one in Virginia and one still in San Diego. Nicole's dad is in the navy, she was heading to Oahu to visit him anyways, so Hawaii seemed like the perfect meeting place!
We were lucky enough to have some amazing hosts, who absolutely spoiled us the entire trip. So Thank you to Nicole's dad Jim, and his wife Laura. We stayed in their bungalow in one of Hawaii's many Navy bases. They were nice enough to tour us around, so we were able to see just about every inch of the beautiful Island. We were able to see some of the most stunning beaches, and some of the bluest water and softest sand. Hawaii is so magical and beautiful, it was so amazing to see all the greenery around the Island. It was great to have a local's perspective on the best places on the Island. They say the people make the place, and they truly did! Not only did we have amazing hosts, but every single person that I met in Hawaii was so friendly and welcoming! It truly is one of the most relaxing places in the world.
This trip was such a blast, and the memories we made will last a lifetime. So here it is, my favourite parts of the Island of Oahu, which of course, includes the food and drinks!

Kat and I stayed in Waikiki for a night, and we woke up at 5:30 to see this amazing sunrise!

The Pearl Harbour Memorial

The bluest water I have ever seen at the Halona Blowhole. We also saw a turtle here!

The Top of Diamond Head, It's a must do!

Dressed up for the Luau at the Sea Life Park (fun fact: this is where 50 first dates was filmed during Adam Sandler's scenes working at the Aquarium)

My favourite hotel on the Waikiki strip! Moana Surfrider.

I had heard the coffee in Hawaii was amazing, and I must say, it was the absolute best Iced Latte I've had in my life. So good, I had it FOUR times when I was there. Thankfully, Vancouver has 2 locations.

Kat and I relaxed on the beach, this was on the Waikiki strip.

The beach at the Hickam Airforce Base; where we watched planes take off from the airport!

Shaved Ice at the North Shore. This area was probably my favourite. It was the cutest little area, full of shops, beautiful quiet beaches, and yummy food!

Pineapple Ice Cream at the Dole Plantation. This was also amazing!

A Mai Tai! This was Kat's drink, but I had a couple sips!

Waimea Bay Beach in the North Shore! The waves here were viscious!
